Disney Cruise Line Announces Late 2027 and Early 2028 Itineraries

Well, the day many of us Disney Cruise Line fans have been waiting for has arrived. DCL has announced its itineraries for late 2027 and early 2028!

Bookings will open on Monday, August 31 for the top tier of Castaway Club members, followed by booking days for the lower Castaway Club tiers, and culminating with bookings opening to the general public on Tuesday, September 8. So, we all have a little time to check out the new itineraries, look at our calendars and start planning any Disney cruises we want to book!

Many of the itineraries are similar to ones Disney has offered before, with plenty of sailings to Disney’s two island destinations in The Bahamas and other popular Caribbean ports of call. However, there are a few new offerings that I wanted to highlight.

One of the biggest announcements—and welcome news for those living in the Northeast—is that Disney is sending the Disney Wish to New York City. The Wish will arrive in New York in late September 2027 and sail seven cruises from the city through early November.

While sailing from New York, the Disney Wish will offer cruises to Bermuda as well as cruises along the Northeastern United States and Eastern Canada, at the perfect time of year to enjoy the fall foliage. Five of the seven New York sailings will visit Bermuda, with three spending an extra day there.

From New York, the Wish will reposition to San Juan, Puerto Rico, for a series of five- to seven-night Eastern and Southern Caribbean sailings before eventually making its way back to its usual homeport of Port Canaveral.

Another interesting offering is coming on the Disney Magic. The Magic will start the season with Baja and Mexican Riviera cruises from San Diego before heading out on a 14-night Panama Canal crossing to Galveston, Texas. Along the way, it will make a maiden call at Fuerte Amador, serving Panama City.

The Magic will then spend the season sailing from Galveston before embarking on another 14-night Panama Canal cruise in the opposite direction in spring 2028. That cruise will include another maiden call, this time in Colón, Panama. I love seeing Disney offer longer and more unusual itineraries like these.

The Disney Fantasy will also be moving around quite a bit during the newly released schedule. It will offer some sailings from San Juan, Puerto Rico, before sailing from Port Canaveral on four- and five-night Bahamas and Western Caribbean cruises. It will later move to Fort Lauderdale for four- to seven-night Bahamas and Eastern Caribbean sailings.

One particularly interesting offering is an eight-night Disney Fantasy cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Bermuda that also includes stops at both Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. This will be the Fantasy’s first time sailing to Bermuda and is definitely one of the more interesting itineraries in the new release.

The Disney Adventure will continue its three- and four-night sailings from Singapore, with newly released dates running from September through December 2027. Disney has also announced that select Adventure sailings will visit Langkawi, Malaysia, although those cruises actually fall outside this new itinerary release, sailing from December 31, 2026 through May 2027. The addition of Langkawi is still notable because it adds an actual port of call to select Disney Adventure cruises rather than the ship’s traditional cruises focused entirely on experiences at sea.

The Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny will not see quite as many major changes to their offerings.

The Disney Wonder will spend the Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 seasons sailing from San Diego, continuing Disney Cruise Line’s recent push to offer more cruises from Southern California. The Wonder will offer three- to seven-night Baja and Mexican Riviera cruises, with ports including Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas and Catalina Island.

The Disney Dream will begin with three- and four-night Bahamas sailings from Port Canaveral before moving to Fort Lauderdale in November 2027, where it will primarily offer three- to five-night Bahamas cruises. There will also be one six-night sailing featuring two visits to Disney Castaway Cay.

The Disney Treasure will continue to focus primarily on its familiar week-long Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral, but there are a couple of exceptions. Disney will offer the Treasure’s first eight-night Eastern Caribbean sailing, along with a special six-night Bahamian cruise featuring two stops at Disney Castaway Cay.

The newest Wish-class ship currently sailing, the Disney Destiny, will start the season with three- to five-night Bahamas and Western Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale. It will then make Port Canaveral its homeport for the first time, offering three- to seven-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean from there.

One ship was unfortunately left off this new itinerary release: the Disney Believe.

The Disney Believe is still scheduled to begin sailing in late 2027, but Disney did not include any Believe sailings in this release. We know that Disney Cruise Line is planning a special livestream reveal for the Disney Believe on October 7, and I suspect we may learn more about its homeport and itineraries then—or perhaps in a separate announcement shortly afterward. I did notice something interesting while looking through the new schedules. During portions of this release, the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny—all Wish-class ships—will be sailing from Port Canaveral, while the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy will both spend significant time sailing from Fort Lauderdale.

That means there is currently no Wish-class ship announced for Fort Lauderdale once the Destiny moves to Port Canaveral.

Could that be a clue about the Disney Believe?

I could certainly see Disney putting the Believe in Fort Lauderdale, which would give South Florida a Wish-class ship while the other three are sailing from Port Canaveral. This is entirely my speculation, but the way the ships are being positioned makes me wonder if Disney has intentionally left a spot open for the Believe. We will have to wait and see if I am right!

As for me, I am eyeing a booking on the Disney Fantasy. It is the only Disney ship currently sailing from North America that I have yet to sail on, other than the Disney Destiny—and I will be sailing on the Destiny this coming November.

I would love to get on the Fantasy and complete the set. :)

I also love Disney’s holiday cruises, so a Very Merrytime sailing on the Fantasy would be particularly tempting.

And, of course, I would LOVE to book a cruise on the Disney Believe once those itineraries are released. Something about that ship has me extra excited. Perhaps it is because I love so many of the franchises Disney has featured in the teasers so far.

If I did not have school-aged children and had fewer restraints on my time, I would also love to do one of the Disney Wish cruises from New York to New England and Canada to see the fall foliage. Bermuda is another destination that really appeals to me, as I have never been there.

And someday, when I have the time for a longer repositioning cruise, I would love to sail through the Panama Canal. Hopefully Disney keeps offering these more unusual itineraries.

The Fantasy will also make its first-ever Bermuda cruise, an 8-night itinerary visiting both Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay.	The 8-night Bermuda cruise plus both Disney island destinations is one of the most interesting itineraries in the entire release.
