Disney Believe Predictions

Setting sail in late 2027 is the newest of the DCL fleet, the Disney Believe! The Believe is a Wish class ship along with the Disney Wish, the Disney Treasure, and the Disney Destiny. The Believe centers around the idea of promise and possibility, encouraging guests to believe that anything is possible. Disney released a teaser video revealing the Believe’s name and hinting at some characters and stories that may be featured on it. In a post they specified that the Believe may include theming from these movies: Moana, Encanto, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Little Mermaid, and Frozen (in the teaser video they showed a  clip of Frozen 2 so we are inclined to believe that they may theme it after the sequel).

Here are some of my predictions for what spaces I think will be themed after which movies and what they’ll be like!

Musicals in the Walt Disney Theatre

Each Disney Cruise Line ship has three primary shows in the Royal Theatre. In the preexisting Wish class ships, they feature one new show specifically designed for the ship, one show pulled from one of the other ships, and Disney Seas the Adventure, a production following Captain Minnie and Captain Goofy with different scenes showcasing songs from several popular Disney movies. 

I think Encanto would make an amazing stage production for the Disney Believe! The songs are iconic and would make lively musical numbers with exciting choreography. Disney has so much new technology including projection mapping and could really immerse the audience in the vibrant world of Encanto. They could really push the boundaries with all of the special effects of Casita and bring their magical gifts to life. Encanto has several showstopping moments and the possibilities for what Disney could do with it are endless. Encanto would also sum up the theme of the Believe perfectly, it’s about the possibilities of all of their gifts but also about how Mirabele must believe in herself.  I definitely hope that they choose to make Encanto into their original production because I’m very excited to see what they would do with it!

I hope that for the second show they pull Tangled from the Disney Magic. The Little Mermaid and Tangled are both prime candidates because they are both only on one ship (Tangled on the Magic and The Little Mermaid on the Wish). I preferred Tangled to The Little Mermaid because I thought it left me with more of a ‘wow’ impression. The lantern scene was absolutely gorgeous and I think that the story has more exciting moments. Rapunzel fits the theme of the Believe as she had to truly believe in her dream to see the lanterns. Also, The Little Mermaid is already featured on a Wish class ship while Tangled is on the oldest and smallest ship. I'd prefer for Tangled to be the second musical on the Believe.  Although, I really enjoyed seeing both and would be happy to see them again.  

My prediction for this final show is mostly going to be a wish as I’m pretty sure that Disney will keep Disney Seas the Adventure on all of the Wish class ships. I am hoping that they will put the compilation musical Believe on it because what could be more perfect than having the musical Believe on the Believe ship? It is about a workaholic father whose daughter tries to convince him to believe in magic which fits the theme of the ship perfectly. Also, Disney Seas the Adventure is aimed more at a younger age group and is significantly shorter than all of the other productions. Believe is also only on two ships, the Disney Dream and  the Disney Fantasy. While Disney Seas the Adventure is on the three newest ships (not including the Adventure), the Wish, the Treasure, and the Destiny. It would make more sense to put the musical Believe on it because it has been staged fewer times and it hasn’t been used on all of the newest DCL ships. I also preferred Believe to Disney Seas the Adventure and would be excited to see it again.

Grand Hall and Statue

I think the perfect theme for the Grand Hall is Frozen 2. Frozen has not yet been used as a theme for the Grand Hall and it is so popular. It has already been made into a stage production and a restaurant, but a statue for this iconic film is a must. I would be very happy to see a statue of  Anna and Elsa gazing into the unknown on the Disney Believe. The chandelier could be inspired by an icy spiral that represents Elsa’s ice magic. The Grand Hall could be themed after the enchanted forest with rocky texture from the Earth Giants and the gorgeous fall leaves. Frozen 2 has rich fall colors that would create a lovely atmosphere and the unlimited possibilities of the enchanted forest fit the theme of the Believe perfectly.  

Stern Characters

For the stern characters on the Disney Believe, I think that Snow White and Dopey would be great candidates. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is all about how Snow White must believe in her dreams so what better place  to showcase it on the Disney Believe than as the stern character(s). I picture a fairytale-like rendition of Snow White twirling on the back of the Believe with Dopey prancing with her. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is the perfect theming for the stern characters on the Disney Believe.

Main Dining

On all of the Disney ships they have three main rotational dining rooms. On the Wish class ships they have had Worlds of Marvel (a marvel themed dining experience that features a show on screens throughout your dinner),  1923 (a fancy restaurant with Disney memorabilia), and one extremely immersive dining room with a dinner show that is unique to that ship. 

For the dining room unique to the Believe, I’m predicting a Moana-themed dinner show. Imagine stepping into a space with outrigger sails hanging from the ceiling, sea shells scattered throughout the decor, and flickering torches lining the walls. To truly bring the island spirit to life, this room could feature an interactive water element that reacts to the show. The menu could highlight vibrant Pacific-Style cuisine, featuring the fresh seafood that cruisers always adore.  With its incredible soundtrack and iconic characters, a Moana themed dining experience is sure to be a hit! 

 While I believe that Disney will keep Worlds of Marvel the same, there is an exciting alternative: a Star Wars restaurant. Much like the Hyperspace lounge on the Wish, it could allow guests to feel like they are voyaging through deep space aboard the Millennium Falcon. A Star Wars theme would appeal to the same high-tech market as Worlds of Marvel while offering a fresh world to explore. Although it is a significant possibility that Disney will simply opt for a new Worlds of Marvel show featuring Iron Man or Groot, I am hoping for a Star Wars restaurant and I think that it would be incredible to be immersed in a brand new universe. 

I love 1923 and truly hope that it makes its way onto the Disney Believe! This elegant venue offers sophisticated Disney flair, where guests can admire historic animation relics while enjoying a delicious meal. It is an elegant restaurant with a slight Disney flair. It is fun to see the historical animation relics while enjoying a classy high-end meal. Disney will probably choose to keep it the same for all of the Wish class ships and have it on the Believe. I agree with this choice because it’s nice to have a restaurant with a slightly fancier atmosphere that is a little less DISNEY but still has the Disney flair. 1923 is a great restaurant that I hope to see on the Disney Believe. 

Bars/Lounges

The bars and lounges are usually heavily themed on the Disney cruise ships, especially in the Wish class ships. All the Wish class ships have 4 main themed bars and lounges.   

All of the Wish class ships include a themed bar featuring a piano. A common theme seen with the piano bar, is that the movie used for theming often has a piano prominently featured in it. Out of the movies featured in the teasers, the movies that have a piano in them are Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Tangled. I was originally thinking a Snow White themed lounge would be nice, with a peaceful woodsy atmosphere, I thought that a Tangled lounge would be a bit more exciting. I think that out of those movies Tangled would be the best fit for a lively bar and lounge. In the movie there is already a pub called the Snuggly Duckling so it would be perfect to have a bar and lounge themed after it. Just as on the Destiny, Cruella hijacks the mic to rewrite her own rendition of her theme song, the thugs and ruffians could lead the crowd in a rowdy rendition of the song, ‘I’ve Got a Dream’ inviting the crowd to offer up their own aspirations. A Snuggly Duckling themed bar and lounge would have a lively atmosphere with intricate theming.  With rustic decor featuring several carved wood masterpieces, a Snuggly Duckling lounge is a must for the Disney Believe. 

I think the center lounge on the Believe will be themed after the Little Mermaid. An under the sea theme has not yet been seen for a DCL lounge. Imagine stepping into a grotto filled with marine flora and coral, anchored by a bar carved from rugged sea rock that specializes in bioluminescent drinks. The ceiling could feature a digital skylight where fish swim overhead–or maybe even a real fish tank! An immersive oceanic lounge would be a spectacular, one-of-a-kind addition to the Believe.

For the signature lounge on the Believe–previously the Haunted Mansion Parlor and Hyperspace Lounge–I think that a Nightmare Before Christmas theme would be perfect. This bar tends to have a slightly darker tone, as we’ve seen with the Hyperspace lounge and the Haunted Mansion parlor, so Nightmare Before Christmas fits seamlessly. Because this film has such a dedicated fanbase, the Imagineers could lean into its eccentric, distorted style to create an immersive space with a slight ghoulish flair. By blending Halloween and Christmas decor, this lounge could achieve a hauntingly festive energy. The design could feature varying textures such as stitched together patchwork, burlap, velvets, pinstripes, and delicate cobwebs, all nods to iconic characters. Building on the legacy of previous lounges featuring drinks with billowing smoke and swirling shimmers, a Nightmare Before Christmas lounge could introduce a drink enrobed in a smoky cobweb. The Imagineers always go above and beyond with their level of detail, and I am very intrigued to see how they would bring the Pumpkin King’s world to life.

I think that for the adult exclusive pub, the Believe could have a Marvel themed pub. Currently, the only Marvel experience for adults on DCL is the Marvel restaurant and most of the theming takes place via screens. A Marvel themed pub could have much more of an immersive theme orientated towards details. I am predicting that the Marvel themed pub could be centered around either Iron Man or Groot, who were featured in the teaser video. An Iron Man themed pub would be a sleek, modern, and high tech place, featuring a glimpse into Tony Stark’s lab with the iconic Iron Man suit on display. While, a Guardians of the Galaxy theme would be a little more eclectic. Possibly set in an abandoned space craft on an unknown planet, with the quirky and lively atmosphere that is beloved by fans. Either theme would make a lively, immersive, and unique pub that I think would be a wonderful edition to the Disney Believe.

Ice Cream Parlor

One of the most scrumptious and fanciful places on the ship is the ice cream and desert parlor. It offers specialty desserts and gelato that are not included. Previously the ice cream parlor had been themed after the Incredibles, Inside Out, and Zootopia. I think that Toy Story would be the perfect theming for an ice cream parlor. I envision an ice cream shop with oversized decorations, which would use forced perspective to give guests the feeling of being toy sized. It could feature toy inspired decor and a statue of Woody and Buzz feasting on a ginormous ice cream sundae. This would be a bright, bubbly, quirky space with a lighthearted atmosphere. Children and adults alike could enjoy this space, with it reflecting nostalgia, fun, and happiness. 

Show Lounge

The Wish class ships all have a two-deck lounge where game shows and live music take place. On previous ships it has been Luna, Sarabi, and Saga. I am predicting a Fantasia themed lounge because I think that it would fit the vibe of the other game show lounges. The game show lounges typically have subtler theming which mainly relies on color. A Fantasia themed game show lounge could feature deep blues and the bright red of Mickey’s sorcerer hat. I think that Fantasia is a classic Disney film that would work perfectly as a game show lounge. 

Coffee Shops

On the Wish class ships there are typically two main coffee shops directly above and below each other. My prediction for one of them is an Inside Out themed coffee shop. I think that it could have theming involving all of the emotions and maybe even some themed drinks. The coffee shop could be styled to look like headquarters with inspiration drawn from the console. I also think that there could be little decorations inspired by each emotion, like a statue, mosaic, lantern, or something else entirely. I would be very excited to see a coffee shop inspired by Inside Out and I think that there are plenty of possibilities for it.

For the second coffee shop I think that Zootopia is the perfect movie to draw inspiration from. Zootopia is a bright, fun, and quirky movie that would translate into a vibrant and iconic coffee shop. This coffee shop could feature decor of various sizes to represent how all animals (of many sizes) live together harmoniously. This space could feature lots of animal inspired theming and possibly there could be a part of the coffee shop that was themed to be like the different environments in the city. A Zootopia themed coffee shop would be a playful addition to the Disney Believe.

Whatever theming the spaces on the Disney Believe have, I am sure it will be amazing and I cannot wait to see what it is! Disney Cruise ships have been nothing short of incredible and I'm confident that the Believe won’t be an exception.
